What We Do ?
The GECA Research Institute was born from the need to construct a knowledge society to drive innovation and support decisions to address Africa’s problems. This was reinforced by Africa’s scientists at the UNFCCC COP 16 in 2010. These agreed to create a think tank to generate and pool knowledge on gender, climate change and agriculture, recognised as pertinent issues for urgent attention. The issues articulated are real and remain valid. The GECA Research Institute was created as a Not-for-Profit organisation on gender, climate change and agriculture to contribution to a solution to Africa’s development challenge across the 3 dimensions. The institute (acronym GECA) is registered in Uganda since December 2021, and operationalised with a GECA Secretariat hosted by ESIPPS (Environmental Surveys, Information, Planning and Policy Systems) International, a founder member institution for GECA.
